Kani Basami

Kani Basami is a poet who was raised by a pack of wild scientists. She has a number of incarnations including childbirth doula with scented lotions, election judge with a sharp eye, reiki healer with flickering candles, editor showcasing sharp-edged poetry and art, long-legged majorette twirling fire batons, farmer's daughter hiding in a hayloft and last but not least, jumprope champion in the category of style. She remains an educator, professor's wife and mama cat to three (human) boys. And of course, through it all and until the end, a poet.
