Thank you for considering submitting your work to our Front Page literary journal, JUMP.

We are pleased to consider your original poetry on most topics. However, we will pass on inspirational or religious verse, as well as work that is violent, pornographic, oppressive, or frivolously salacious. We prefer modern free verse over end-rhyming, metered work. We like strong enjambment with no word wasted. Authors must be 18 years of age or older.

You may submit up to three poems in a single submission. We prefer poems of medium length (8 to 50 lines).

We accept previously published poems, provided there are no copyright restrictions prohibiting re-publication of your work. In case of prior publication, you must include that information in your submission (“Previously published in Rattle“).

We accept simultaneous submissions. We ask that you notify us immediately of any change in the status of your submission (you can use this form — just fill out the comments section).

We will do our best to respond to all submissions by the end of the calendar month following the month in which the work was submitted. For example, if you submit in early January, 2018 then you will hear back before the end of February, 2018.
